Digital Apparel Design

In the Fall of 2022, I had the opportunity to participate in a Digital Apparel Design class at the University of Georgia. As a fashion student with an emphasis in Brand Management, this was a wonderful opportunity for me to gain experience in print design and creation as well as product line sheets and apparel design. I was able to learn how to use the Kaledo software to complete a variety of different assignments which I have featured below.

Design Statement

As a designer, I strive to create something that stands out and evokes a feeling from my viewers. One of the most important things for me when looking at other's work is the way it makes me feel. A design has much more impact when it goes beyond the looks and instead evokes emotion and causes the viewer to think. That has been the guideline throughout all of my work in this class and throughout my time as an artist and designer. The movement of designs, color, and messages no matter the medium can not only be visually appealing but also create a certain type of emotion within the viewer, which has been my goal as a designer.  Creating a variety of different prints and projects has allowed me to use this guideline in a fashion perspective as prints and colorways were used to go beyond fashion looks and evoke feeling amongst viewers. In this slide, I have included a variety of different assignments that were driven by this approach, which was a guideline for how I created my work throughout the semester.
